Privacy Policy
What this site collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. Written in plain language because a privacy policy you can’t read isn’t one.
Effective May 13, 2026
This policy covers timurtek.com, the website. It explains what data the site collects when you visit, subscribe, or get in touch. It does not cover consulting engagements; those are governed by separate written agreements.
What I collect
Two kinds of data, and that’s it.
Your email address, only when you give it to me. That happens if you subscribe to the newsletter, ask to be notified about a resource, or send a message through the contact form. The contact form also carries whatever you write in it.
Usage data: standard analytics. Which pages you viewed, which links you clicked, your device type, your browser, your approximate location (country and city level, derived from IP, never your precise location), and the site that referred you. This is aggregate behavioral data, not a profile with your name on it.
The hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and operational reasons, the way every web host does.
How I use it
- Email: to send the newsletter you subscribed to, to reply when you contact me, and to let you know when a resource you asked about is ready.
- Usage data: to understand what’s working on the site. Which essays get read, which pages people leave fast, whether a change helped. It informs what I build and write next.
I don’t sell your data. I don’t share it with advertisers. There are no ad networks or cross-site tracking pixels on this site.
The tools that touch your data
A handful of third-party services process data on the site’s behalf. Each has its own privacy practices:
- Resend: delivers email and stores the newsletter subscriber list.
- Google Analytics 4: site analytics. Sets cookies (see below).
- Vercel: hosts the site, and provides Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, both of which are cookieless.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies so it can recognize a repeat visit and not double-count you. That’s the only cookie category on the site. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are cookieless by design. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works fine; you just become invisible to the analytics. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal are respected where the analytics tools support it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe: every newsletter email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Use it any time; no hard feelings, no retention flow.
- Access or delete your data: email me at hello@timurtek.com and I’ll tell you what I have or remove it. No form, no ticket system. It’s a small operation.
- Block tracking: browser settings, an extension, or a privacy-focused browser all work. The site doesn’t fight you on it.
How long it’s kept
Your email stays on the subscriber list while you’re subscribed, and for a short period after you unsubscribe so the same address doesn’t get accidentally re-added. Contact-form messages are kept as long as the conversation is useful, then cleared. Analytics data follows the default retention windows of Google Analytics and Vercel; neither of which keeps raw data indefinitely.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts collecting something new or using a different tool, this page gets updated and the effective date at the top changes. Material changes will be called out, not buried.
